Beautiful Guilin 23 : Sun-Moon Pagoda & Ancient South Gate

Sun-Moon Pagodas

Below is the description :

Guilin's Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas is one of the Guilin's attractions. It is situated in Shanhu (Shan Lake). The word sun and moon in Chinese character written together meant brightness. Some say it symbolizes the future of Guilin is bright. 


The Sun Pagoda is constructed with copper; it has 9 floors and reaches a height of 41 metres. The Moon Pagoda's construction is made of marble; it has 7 floors and measuring 35 meters high. The two pagodas are connected via a tunnel at the bottom of the lake.(Wikimapia Org.)

 Also called Gold and Silver Pagodas because of their colours at night.

Ancient South Gate of Guilin is on the north side of Banyan Lake. It was constructed in Tang Dynasty and expanded in Ming Dynasty. The gate lies in north bank of the Banyan Lake. In front of the gate is a 1,000-year-old Banyan tree with flourishing leaves by the lake. The "Shadow of the Ancient Banyan Tree" is one of the famous scenic spots of Guilin in Qing Dynasty.   1. Indahnya pagoda itu Pak Lim. Guilin memang superb. Memakai payung itu jadi budaya orang Guilin rupaya. Bahkan tukang perahu juga pakai payung walau ngak hujan.

  4. gambar pagoda tu waktu malam takde ke? ish, saya memang takut katak.serius takkan gi dekat patung katak tu! Glass house tu, speechless..tak dapat bayangkan kalau duduk dalam tu.
