Was built as a beautiful symbol of friendship between Sydney and Guangzhuo in China. Designed following the Taoist principles of Yin Yang and five opposite elements such as earth, fire, water, metal and wood. Also stress the importance of Qi, the central force of life and energy. Landscapes that feature waterfalls, mountains, lake and forests.
The picture above is a very good representation of Ying and Yang. negative and positive. passive and active. The flowing waterfall is "yang"- strong. loud, active, rushing ; while the serene pool at the end of it is 'Ying'- calm, passive but assertive.
