Batu Caves : The Colorful Temple Cave

Quick fact 

1. It is a limestone's hill, and one of the world most popular Tamil Shrines outside India.

2. Batu Caves in short referred as 10th caves or hill dedicated to Lord Murugan.

3.  It is the focus point of the Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.

4.  272 steps to walk up to Batu caves stairs.

5.  Never wear short Pant or  skirt above knee-level if you plan ti go up the stairs.

6.  Entrance fee : Free of Charge

7.  Located in Gombak, Selangor 16 Kilometers away from Kuala Lumpur.

How to get to Batu Caves

1.  Take a direct KTM Komuter train to Batu Caves from KL Sentral KTM Sation to Batu Caves KTM Station. The total journey is about 40 minutes.  The first train from KL Sentral to Batu Caves is 6.56 AM. The last train from KL Sentral to Batu Caves is 10.46 PM. The train fare to Batu Caves is only RM 2.30 by cash.

2.  Get to Kuala Lumpur Sentral Railway Station. It is the main railway station in Kuala Lumpur.

3.  Buy your ticket to Batu Caves Railway Station from KTM Komuter line.

4. On the Platform, look for sign posted showing, Batu Caves. 

5.  Batu Caves Station is the eighth (8th) station from KL Sentral.

6.  Once you arrive at Batu Caves and exist head right and you cannot miss the caves as there is a 43 meter (140 ft) tall Statue, the Lord Murugan.
